TRAIN Scholar Evelyn Rivera Elias' Blog

  This week I'm wrapping up my classes and finishing assignments. I'm hoping to end the semester strong! I also sent the S-STEM application to a friend of mine so hopefully, he can apply for the next Spring semester. I really learned a lot about how to balance my time and priorities, as well as how to ask for the support I need. Part me is still sad about the hardships I faced this semester but the other half of me is glad I was able to get through them and learn from them. I feel like I can apply what I learned to be even more successful next semester!

 This week I got started on my poster for the presentations. I was having some trouble doing it since writing isn't my best subject. I was also behind on doing my variable table. I was super stressed and worried my poster would look incomplete or sloppy. Luckily Josh explained how to do the table and went into more detail about how to do the poster. I pushed through and wrote as much as I could.  I think my presentation could have gone better since I felt like I was choking on my words. I think it was because I did my work so late and I just didn't have enough information to really digest the material. I think I've learned a lot this semester and I know what went well and what didn't. I'm hoping to do much better next semester.
